I caught up with renowned Fashion Creative Director and Fashion Editor Giovanna Battaglia, affectionately known on Instagram as "Bat Gio", at the FRAME store on Melrose Ave for her book tour. The store was packed with fashion fans with her book "Gio_Graphy" at hand. Yes, there is an underscore in her book title because #gio_graphy is her personal branding campaign where she shares smashing photographs of her dreamy outfits as she jet sets all over the globe. I asked Gio how she planned to celebrate once she hit 1M followers on her Instagram page and she chuckled backwards insisting she doesn't think it is a big deal. As for her DM's, "I don't really keep up with my DM's."
I have to admit I wasn't too familiar with the FRAME, but was impressed by their chic ready-to-wear collection handcrafted in Los Angeles. It was a nice touch to collaborate with a true fashion industry influencer for an in-store event. It is this crowd who has the appreciate for the craftsmanship in luxury lines. A pair of jeans can run up to $239. A study by Bain & Co. did project that by 2025, Millennials and Generation Z will account for 45% of the global personal luxury goods market. Personally, quality is simply irresistible. Thanks for the fashion inspo, Gio!
