EVERYBODY.WORLD is making clothes out of recycled materials while maintaining a high standard of ethics for their workers and the environment. They proudly manufacture 95% of their line in California and partner with factories to ensure fair earning wages for the people. Eager to learn more about this company founded by Iris Alonzo and Carolina (formerly at American Apparel), I checked out a party they were hosting for a local artist's new album. Their office penthouse overlooking on Wilshire Blvd. overlooking McArthur Park and downtown's skyline was packed with a young artist crowd who were fashion forward with their up cycled clothes.
There eco-friendly and highly-creative space had a divider wall made out of piled plastic bottles and (my favorite part) two rows of industrial book shelves filled with a library of fashion magazines and books. "Wow, this is a Vogue from the year I was born", I beamed to co-founder Iris Alonzo, she replied, "Yes- they're my daily inspiration!". Check out picks from our visit.
